Terrible communications, site plan not as I asked for when drawing up well/septic plan, very unresponsive, do not recommend. * Edit: I actually received a call back from them and Adam helped me pay for the permit which I didn't know I needed to send payment for. Gave him one more star for that.

DO NOT HIRE! Jim lead on me and a client of mine for months, losing a Real Estate sale which is now delaying her retirement. In the end taking soil samples he broke her existing septic drainfield. Took her money up front and did not deliver anything for months. Jim always comes off as a nice guy, and that's his trick. Don't believe him, we are sorry that we did.

I am 65 years old and in both my personal and professional life have dealt with a variety of contractors. My experience with Jim Hunter was by far the most frustrating encounter I have had with a contractor. Here’s what he is good at: (1) getting his money up front; (2) making promises; and (3) making excuses when promises and representations are not met. Most troublesome is the fact that he failed to disclose of an evaluation/procedure ( a rather expensive one) that needed to be performed before my property could even be considered for the siting of a septic system. Jim Hunter was aware of the need for such an evaluation, but failed to tell me about it until after he had gotten all of his money up front and the County wrote a letter citing all the reasons (per info of public record) why a septic system could not be built on the property. I sued Jim Hunter for fraud and misprepresentation and eventually got most of my money back, all except what the County charged to write the letter saying (per info of public record) the property is not suitable for a septic system. All along the way Jim Hunter had excuses and explanations that, in my opinion, were simply not credible. Unfortunately, this review process doesn’t allow the reviewer to give anything less than one star, which I would if I could.
