The staff presence was hard to find. I had to wait in line at the register to get help finding a product that said it was in stock online but I didn't see it on the shelf. So this was a minor inconvenience. So after waiting in line to get to the register, the employee went to the back and found me the Pan I required to bake my cake. That was nice of her to actually go check her stock for me. Most of the time, in most stores you get a straight up NO without anyone looking.
The store is well lit, organized, and clean. The prices are clearly marked. Also, the prices are good. They often have coupons to use in store.
Large selection of goods, abysmal customer support and help.
I am not a craftsman, but I had a personal project I wanted to try and start. I wanted to make a nice multi-ribbon bookmark but could not find, out of their inventory, what I was trying to look for. So I spent a good 10 minutes wandering to try and find an employee for help because, frankly, I don't know what I am doing. Couldn't find anyone.
So I go to the cashier's trying to get help only to be met with vague directions and an attitude of hesitance to help.
Again, I am not a craftsman so I went to Joann hoping to find help and instead couldn't get an employee to help me to save my life. What is the purpose of a brick and mortar crafts store if there is no staff to help someone with crafts? Why shouldn't a person just buy what they need from Amazon and then look up YouTube tutorials if a craft store isn't going to support or do the bare minimum help for someone looking to get into crafts?
