The campground itself is cute and average to good overall. It is located in the Joemma Beach State Park, over the Puget Sound, among tall Douglas fir trees intermixed with Pacific madronas, within a short walk of a beach with a fishing pier and boat dock. Most camping sites do not really have a view of the Puget Sound. Some spots for tents are too small for a large tent. Some spots for tents and picnic tables are leveled very approximately. ;) What really distinguishes this campground from many others is how well it is maintained. Everything, including the camping sites and the restrooms, is VERY clean. The staff definitely cares about the order and cleanliness of the campground. Many thanks to these people for doing such a great job! Camping at this place is very inexpensive, and the pebble beach is typically not crowded at all. In fact, we were the only people on the beach for a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon. My daughter and I tried to fish from the pier, but there was no flounder – just small sculpins.
