This place is like a throw away zone for elderly and disabled. I felt so bad whenever I would go to visit my mom. Im grateful that she is coherent and able to verbalize. There are others there that are not able to talk about what’s happening.
A timeline of events that occurred during my mothers stay: -Moved in September 1 -there was a Covid outbreak but they still moved her in and made us aware of the outbreak after
-Early November my mother witnessed staff (later fired) get into a physical altercation with a resident -Meals consisted of toast in the mornings, spaghetti out of a can for lunch and sandwiches at night for dinner. My mother lost weight and became fragile.
-She was constantly crying when I would leave, she was sad and even asked “did you guys leave me here to die?”
The front door was always unlocked (many times I just walked in) and in December a dementia patient walked out of the facility into the street.
In December I witnessed one of the non-verbal residents soil himself and sit in it for the duration of my visit because they were understaffed.
The smell in there is horrible. It is dark and depressing. One large tv in the room and everyone just sits together on the couch all day watching it.
The pictures advertised are NOT what it really looks like, once you’re there.
I moved my mom OUT at the end of December and she is so full of life!
