In August 2020 I had full hip replacement performed by a very prominent Tri-Cities surgeon NOT affiliated with Kadlec. It was such a bad experience. To the point where I was fearful of having the second hip surgery that I still required. The second hip like the first was bone on bone. I was scared and frustrated thinking about having to live through that experience again. The original surgeon was very arrogant. He came across as a primadonna. I would estimate that I spent less than a total of 15 minutes with him in both my pre, and two post op appointments. His approach to to the surgery was very intrusive and painful, with what turned out to be a prolonged healing period. Due to the extreme pain resulting from the surgery site, there was a lot of pain medication involved. Overall it was a very bad experience.
A casual friend suggested I contact Chad Williams M.D, a surgeon with Kadlec NWOSM. She had a very positive experience with the hip surgery he performed on her, and she spoke very highly of him. She was quite convincing that it was worth my time to meet with him. It was excellent advise! I was very impressed with Dr. Williams, and his polite and professional office staff. During my initial appointment he never made me feel rushed and answered all my questions. My impression of him upon leaving was that he was caring, skilled, kind and humble. I felt very comfortable with him. Due to a cancellation in his schedule I was able to have my second hip replacement surgery performed within the month.
The two procedures were literally night and day. Dr. Williams approach is minimally invasive. Rather than cut through the muscle, he went between the muscles. The incision is about half the size of my first surgery, and the location on my body resulted in a far more comfortable recovery. The fact is that Dr. Williams' approach saved me a world of pain. I was able to go home from the hospital the same day of surgery, and actually slept comfortably through that first night. The other half of his approach is a minimal need for pain medication. He provided me with a very minimal amount of medication, and it was absolutely sufficient. I was also impressed with the fact that he gave us a cell phone number where he could be reached day or night if a problem arose after surgery. This seemed above and beyond to me, and I truly appreciated knowing assistance was a phone call away. We never had to call him. My recovery was very fast, and 5 weeks later I am walking without any assistance, and I can even lay on that side of my body without discomfort.
Dr. Chad Williams is a very skilled and caring surgeon. He is compassionate with a wonderful bedside manner. I would without hesitation recommend his services.
