Had not been to park in a long time, but weather was beautiful and sunny and had a very nice time/ Invited too a FAMILY/FRIENDS picnic 🧺!! Had a blast!!Next time will do a little fishing 🎣 !!
It's a large park, suitable for walks, hikes, and nature watching. You pretty much have to drive to its parking area, which feels a bit inconvenient and out of the way, but it is understandable since there's a major highway running alongside (La Cienega BLVD) It has what are basically a couple of large ponds with some wildlife, of course. The vast area offers long walks n' hikes, plenty of places for picnics, and BBQ pits (which are pretty gross n dirty, btw.. I wouldn't BBQ anything there). There's a bridge that crosses over LA Cienega Blvd that takes you up a trail to a community garden of sorts where you'll find caretakers caring over the many beautiful types of plants and trees, including many that grow various types of berries. Some basic exercising equipment is also curiously there as well, for those who want to add a little more to their walking, hiking routine. You can overlook the nicer area of Los Angeles and see the West Hollywood, West L.A., Beverly Hills area, and even some odd, interesting looking building. Overall, it was a nice excursion, but it is too out of the way for regular visits. It's no Central Park, but it's okay in its own right. I'm likely to visit Central Park more than return to this one because although it's a decent park for some activities, it just isn't worth the hassle of driving and getting around Los Angeles traffic.
