Fabulous! I really enjoyed my time here for the Freedom to Thrive 2023 Abolitionist convening. The rooms were comfy and spacious. I enjoyed the wall murals and the outdoor hangout spaces. The air conditioner was strong. The rooms were clean. Id just recommend they invest in softer sheets and supply an extra blanket. I did love having three large pillows.
While this was a nice hotel, the marketing was misleading. On their website they say they have “deep roots in the community” and show photos of a courtyard full of people. When we arrived we found it very quiet and lifeless, and realized that there was nobody from hotel staff on site at all. I had hoped there would be at least someone at the front desk to tell us a little about the neighborhood, or someone we could contact with questions. Even to know that there was some staff on the premises at all would have been nice.
The room was clean and comfortable, the AC worked well. We were given one thin blanket and a sheet, which was ok since it was hot. The garbage can was super tiny and already half full when we arrived, so we very quickly ran out of places to put our trash.
With that being said, it served its function as a room to stay in while we explored Portland. I would probably choose to stay in an Airbnb if given the choice again.
