I needed a second opinion. My health provider of 20 years worked on a flair up of cellulitis for over 6 months. I spent several days in the hospital having tests and infussions. There were six doctors of four specialties working on my health but with only limited success. I had several problems occuring together at the same time, a much more difficult diagnosis. I needed a second opinion! Dr. Macduff of Kern Dermotology made wonderful progress in just 3 weeks. He also knew that I was paying for his care OOP (out of pocket) and he worked with me to keep my bill to an amazingly reasonable figure. He knew someone on social security hasn't got a lot of wiggle room. I just want my health back. He ordered only the tests he NEEDED to correctly diagnosis my problem. My recovery has been swift and really amazing to me. Dr. Macduff is a really exceptional and gifted doctor with the experience necessary to provide medical care of the highest quality at affordable prices. He was even able to pull up my medical records from 30 years ago in just minutes. You see I had been a patient of Dr MacDuff that long ago. There is something reassuring about that. His office is busy but everyone gets the same detailed examination needed for this level of compassion and care. You will not be disappointed.

Arrogance at its best! I just read a CERTIFIED LETTER mailed to my friend by Kern Dermatology and I must say, I am dumbfounded! My friend was given a quote on her initial visit to Kern Dermatology for a minor procedure on her face and after returning for the procedure she was handed a bill for more than what she was quoted. After attempting to explain to the receptionist that this was not the amount that was quoted, she was asked to leave. Shortly after the procedure, she received a letter that stated that she was not welcome back and would have to find another Dermatologist for any future procedures. She was not planning on going back to Kern Dermatology after being treated so poorly but she was upset that they failed to admit that they made a mistake and they treated her like she was trying to avoid paying her bill. Apparently, this is common practice for Kern Dermatology as you can see from Gary Stuart's review. These arrogant people would rather lose a customer and risk a bad reputation instead of admitting they made a mistake and making things right for the customer. Their motto should be :KERN DERMATOLOGY, WHERE THE CUSTOMER IS NEVER RIGHT!

Thinking about booking an appointment with Kern Dermatology (Dr. Macduff)? Read this…In October 2018 I was a first time cash patient at this facility. I was informed the charge for new patients was $125.00. Dr. Macduff looked at a spot on my upper shoulders and treated 3 spots on my right cheek. I excused myself to use the ladies room. While in there I looked at my face and noticed that the doctor had only treated ½ of one of the spots on my cheek. When I politely inquired about this they stated it was necessary to partially treat and that I would need to return for a second visit to complete the treatment. (please note: I have had this same exact treatment elsewhere in the past by a different doctor and knew this to not be true.) I was informed that the second visit would be $65.00 to complete my treatment. None the less I returned for the second visit. Upon the completion of my second visit I walked to the receptionist desk to pay. I was then informed the charge for that day would be $145.00. I immediately said “Are you kidding me”? I informed the receptionist I was quoted $65.00. The receptionist replied, “yes, I see here in the notes where Karen stated today’s charge would be $65.00 however, I need to speak with her first so please leave and we will contact you. About two weeks later I received a Certified Letter in the mail stating “they no longer want me as their patient”…..Patients Beware…If you have insurance or deep pockets so that they can gouge you or are a lamb then by all means go to Dr. Macduff, if not…RUN, RUN FAST.
