Nice place to walk your dog and ponder the California gold rush. Amador City is a quaint little place, nice downtown area, and charming feel.

Located just slightly south of the center of Amador City, this mine was once one of the most productive gold reserves in the Mother Lode. It is closed to the public but you can get nice views from the public parking lot. What remains of foundations of old mining buildings and rails. They dug far and deep, motivates by their ambition and in the darkness of this 2700’ mine they awoke something.
