My parents used K&L to build their home. It's been a constant stream of trouble and mistakes. My parents walked through during framing and realized K&L was using old plans, despite their reassurance that they "had everything under control." (and multiple emails from my mom to ensure they had the updated plans since they were out of town during the build)
Details were missed/mistaken constantly. Tile was pulling away at the top when finished and my parents were told this was "normal" and K&L's fix was to cover it with edging instead of installing the tile so it would be flat on the wall. (seems like a safety concern to me if the tile were to pull away fully)
This winter was the THIRD time they've had to redo drywall in the living room due to poor quality and cracking. Every time it's a hassle and a mess. There's still drywall splatter on the floor and shades that we'll be cleaning up.
Each new worker was supposedly "the right guy" or "the expert" but then did poor quality work. I've also heard a lot of excuses as I was helping schedule repairs and times/days would change.
Just today I found their garage door brace/bracket had pulled from the wall which damaged the door. It seems the screw wasn't in the studs well (more poor workmanship?)
Proceed with caution. The employees as individuals have been nice, but the whole experience has been terrible, and we're all unfortunately waiting to see what the next "thing" is that goes wrong due to being done wrong.
Not exactly the new home experience they were hoping for.
