We stayed 6/17/2024. We have a 25ft travel trailer and it was hard to find a site where we could fit in. We ended up in site H9 which was just a wide spot in the road next to the "camp site". There are 2 rivers there which were beautiful. No water in our loop.

We camped Aug 22-25th. I grew up in the area and love coming back home to camp in our favorite spots each year. This year we chose to come to LaWisWis. Although the site is always fun for our family, I feel the management may have changed. The camp hosts were far from what you would hope to see greeting everyone. Seemed a little sketchy and weren’t even sure that’s the “host” I mean, do we pay them? There was no water and no fires. For that reason alone, there should be no charge for the camp sites. We camped a couple years ago and the hosts were a married couple from EA WA and they were very accommodating and informative. They were making sure noise, garbage, cars etc were all where they were supposed to be. They were legit. If I could remember their names (maybe Mike/Sheryl or Shannon???) I would give them a shout out for raising the bar and maybe they could train the newbies. Anyway…still love Packwood just didn’t like the changes.

Gorgeous campground and the Ohanepecosh river is so beautiful and blue and never disappoints. Major problems: 1. No campground maps available except one small one posted at entrance, not drawn to scale and not oriented.
- Pit toilets were not cleaned well or kept clean, and they reek or when cleaned the next day, emitted overwhelming ammonia fumes. No way to wash hands there or sanitize. The lack of clean facilities detracted from the overall experience. This in comparison with a pit toilet we stopped at on the way home that was super clean.
For $7 more per site than Ohanepecosh campground, which has plumbed toilets and bathroom sinks, you might hope for clean and sanitary facilities.
Otherwise, we enjoyed our family time.
