They do not treat their patients with any dignity. Do NOT come to this location unless you are fully covered by insurance or you will be ignored and embarrassed during your visit and after.
During my first exam at this location, I was told by FOUR different employees that I had bad, cheap insurance that doesn't cover very much. Thank you, but I am very much aware of this. No need to be reminded repeatedly by all of the staff that I'm poor.
Then, when discussing what my insurance will cover with the billing gal, she has to bring the dentist back into the room so that I can ask him FOR PERMISSION to get a basic cleaning that my insurance covers instead of the deep cleaning he recommended. Note that I was charged an additional $88 for "dental education" because of this. He told me he would "make an exception just this one time." Excuse me? I'm paying you to clean my teeth.
But the real horror started after my visit. I can't afford the oral surgery I need at this location. Many people recommended I get a referral sent out to the UW dental school for better surgery rates. Well, getting a referral sent out was, ironically, like pulling teeth.
The first time I called to request a referral, I guess the lady didn't understand what I wanted. She didn't tell me she didn't understand, so she just decided not to send a referral ANYWHERE and made me wait a week to find out nothing got sent.
I had to call back 2 more separate times to get it figured out that I wanted a referral sent out to UW dental. I had to SPEAK TO THE DENTIST on the phone to finally get someone to understand. And as soon as I said "I need a referral sent to UW dental school" he was like "oh, yes, I know exactly what you're talking about." SO WHY DOESN'T ANY OF THE STAFF KNOW ANYTHING?
A couple days later, no one had confirmed that my referral was sent out like I had asked, so I called back. I was told "yes, I sent that out MYSELF and I sent the XRAYS TOO." (the xrays are important)
My referral was finally sent out, I scheduled a consult at UW. Skip forward two and a half weeks of being sick, in pain, throwing up because of the constant tooth pain. Drive to Seattle for my appointment.
SURPRISE, SURPRISE! LS MODERN DENTISTRY DIDN'T SEND MY XRAYS WITH MY REFERRAL LIKE THEY TOLD ME THEY DID. THEY LIED TO ME MULTIPLE TIMES DIRECTLY. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PAIN OR YOUR SUFFERING.
New Kids On The Block. They maybe the new kids on the blocks but they made an impressive impression on me (see what I did there?) I’m easily satisfied but hard to impress because I’m accustomed to “you get what get, don’t pitch a fit”.
From the moment I walked in to when I walked out, I was welcomed and taken of. First appointment was of course data intake. They don’t know me, as much as I don’t know them. Dr Sharma and I briefly discussed housekeeping items before setting foot into an exam room (I liked that) X-rays of the teeth were needed - again, first visit.
After a brief assessment, the good doctor physically examined my teeth to confirm her suspicions. I agreed with her assessment as it’s been the party line since my mid-20’s.
Her recommendations were on-point as they lined up with mine.
As a first time patient, they gifted me a dental SWAG bag! Picture below - oh, sweet.
