Great spot to camp with a beautiful beach nearby and miles of trails. Easy access to Bellingham by bike or car. 26 full utility sites and a bunch of standard ones, standard state park pricing structure that varies by season and amenities as well as the relative desirability of each site. Most of the sites are economy or basic, not aware of any in the popular tier. Standard state park bathrooms with showers, here they are coin operated instead of using tokens. Would rate it 5 star due to the beauty of the place and proximity to beach and hiking trails, but road noise can be a little annoying, and many site pads are not flat. Also, I love it, but many people will find the trains running through the park to be loud, and they run from early morning to late at night.
This is our favorite spot to camp! Pros: lush, green campground with many campsites that offer quite a bit of privacy (compared with most other campgrounds we’ve been too. Friendly park staff. Close access to water and trails. Cons: loud train noise, highway noise, and relatively cold/wet weather. The campsites can be a bit muddy. Overall a gorgeous place to stay!
