I have had a very positive experience with Lavender Spectrum Health. My provider Natalie is a wonderful collaborator in managing my health needs. They are very responsive to messages, supportive of my choices, and have even helped me to make progress on self-advocacy with other doctors and specialists. I appreciate that I am able to do telehealth and make evening appointments, which makes care very accessible for me.
The whole clinic is neurodiverse-friendly, trauma-informed, and of course queer-inclusive. From my first appointment, it made such a difference knowing that I was working with people whose lived experiences have some overlap with mine, and that clearly informs how they engage with patients in positive and affirming ways.
I am also very happy to receive such high quality care from a provider who works with my insurance. That is a rare thing to find in this backward healthcare system of ours, and I am very grateful. I cannot recommend Lavender Spectrum Health enough!
I advise caution when considering this practice due to their strict and limiting policies. It is important to thoroughly review these policies before scheduling a visit, as they restrict the doctor to addressing only two concerns per appointment. Should additional issues arise prior to your visit, you will need to schedule another appointment or be referred elsewhere, regardless of the severity of the new concern.
This approach is particularly concerning, as in my case, I was faced with two separate breathing issues along with mental health concerns. I was essentially forced to choose which issues would be addressed, leaving the others untreated. This policy, in my view, poses a significant risk to patient safety, especially for individuals with complex or urgent health needs.
Additionally, when I required a simple form to be signed less than two days after my appointment, I was instructed to schedule another visit. This practice, especially so soon after a recent appointment, gives the impression of prioritizing financial gain over patient care.
I had hoped this practice would provide comprehensive care, but my experience has led me to believe otherwise.
