Dr Nivala has been my optometrist for several years. I've been to other optometrists, but hands down, no one gives a better eye exam. I also can't say enough about Amber. She's familiar with my work setting so my lenses are always perfect. The staff are friendly and my glasses were ready in a timely manner.

If I could give zero stars I would. This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at any optometrist, or any kind of business for that matter. They are slow, disorganized, and incompetent. I had my glasses remade three times and they still were not right. After I returned them the third time they kept them.
Yes, I PAID $200 FOR GLASSES AND THEY KEPT THE GLASSES. They said they would have the doctor call me. He never did.
I was never rude or unreasonable. I just wanted glasses that worked. They could not seem to provide that for me. The optician seemed to take it personally when I complained that my glasses didn’t work and she stopped returning my phone calls or talking to me.
This place is a nightmare. I went to Dr. Symonds during this six month fiasco, and he prescribed me glasses that work just fine. In the meantime I am still out $200. Avoid this place like the plague.

Dr. Nivala is a good eye doctor. The problem is his office is the most incompetent business I've ever encountered. They charged me $8 to mail my contact lenses, and I received half the order. Then they called us to say they sent the wrong order to me (the boxes were the correct lenses, but only 1 box instead of 2 boxes) and that they wanted me to ship the order back to them so they could send me the correct order, and charge me another $8. I said it didn't seem fair to ask me to pay $8 to get half an order, pay another shipping charge to send the incorrect order back to them, and then pay another $8 all so I could correct their mistake. I asked that they just send the boxes they owed me and we'd be square. They refused, but we continued arguing and they finally agreed to make good on their mistake and send me the boxes they owed me. That was over 2 weeks ago. I left a message three days ago, which they didn't return. Today I called them again, and got "Gail" (sp?), the office manager (?) who said she'd been out sick for two weeks, which is why they hadn't sent my boxes or returned my message. Gail promised (again) that my contacts would be mailed tomorrow. We'll see. I'd find a different eye care business if you're considering them.
