Great course. Unfortunately, my 3 friends and I drove an hour to play here only to find that half the course was closed. The half that was closed was given to a Renaissance LARP group. The course decided to rent golf carts to them, leading to people driving all around across the course in front of people trying to golf, disrupting their rounds and putting people at risk of getting hit. The refreshment carts wouldn’t serve golfers, only the “ Realms Unknown” guests. There was live cannon fire coming from the camps as well, which was more than a little distracting. I love that the people at the event had a safe place to engage in their activities and I have nothing against them, but this is a golf course. At the very least, the course should have mentioned it on their website instead of surprising people as they show up for their pre-booked tee times. The $10 discount they offered was insufficient. If you want to have these events, by all means, please do. It looked like a great time, but it doesn’t mix with golf. Close the course next time, everyone will be happier for it. Not sure if I’ll be going back, which is unfortunate because it’s a beautiful course.
