VERY BUSY pool on a Sunday afternoon in December. Line for non-year around ticket holders started forming 30 minutes before start of open swim. Event was later sold out. GET THERE EARLY! Everything seems 20-30 years old but is clean and in good working order. Unfortunately no lap swim during open swim. Hot tubs and pools were very crowded, some uncomfortably crowded. Lots of life guards. Mid-sized lounge with TV, sink, and microwave. The best feature for me was the barefoot walking path in front of the rec center. Great idea, basically a free foot massage! Please see photos of walking path!
I love coming here with family and enjoying the recreational swimming! The only part I dislike is the family locker rooms, there never seems to be enough. You almost have to time it right. So we began to start coming in our swim wear. Storing it in the cubbies, and after just driving home in our towels because the wait is just too much with exhausted kids. The price is cheap, we usually go during the weekdays in winter and spring so there is not too many people and a lot of kids around the same age, like not school age. A great place to swim, exercise and have fun not too far from home and doesn't break the bank.
I don't know if maybe I go at the wrong sessions but my son hates the big bucket, i wish it could be switched off for when the small toddler children are around. To me it wouldn't be so bad if the water wasn't freezing when it tips, the water is for sure chilly and for such a young kid a little hard to get used too.
