I love shopping at Macy's, but I was shocked with lack of service here before the holidays. Was wanting to look at earings that were in locked in container, walked all over jewelry area several times, finally found 1 cashier in entire area. Once I found her, she was great. The only departments that were staffed was makeup and perfume areas. I returned a pair of gloves in men's department, was treated like I was interrupting his day. He was probably in his 60's, suit and tie. Thought our generation was all about customer service, he must have missed the class. Don't like being rude, but I say what I think. Hopefully next time I visit will be better..

I was a bit nervous going here after the other reviews. I guess it depends on your expectations. No, it's not as organized as a regular Macy's. I guess I'm used to it because I love going to sales and rummaging through piles of stuff. Everything is hung up but not really divided by size. Except the shoes are divided by size. The only con is, unless you buy at Macy prices normally the sale isn't cheap. A $240 coat is on sale for $120 which is a great sale if you would have spent the $240. Since I wouldn't spend more than $100 on a coat there wasn't much in my price range. There were many pretty things still there though.

I love the current sales, and when they didnt have a sale I loved the products. However, something is going on with the staff. I don't know why but some present as arrogant, while others present themselves as really nice specially in the jewelry section. Maybe this is why they are closing. I don't know, but I like coming to this Macy's because of the products and not because of the staff. Maybe Macy's needs to improve their treatment of their customers in order to compete better with online purchasing. You need to make customers want to come to you to buy, if they see the salesperson as rude, mean, arrogant or as if not wanting to work, or as if they don't want to help you buy a product people will just go buy online. This is why online purchasing is growing so fast, because people are enjoying buying items by themselves better than buying items with a salesperson. Selling is about building relationships and Macy's is lacking. Macy's needs to improve their salesperson's training in order to survive and compete better with online purchasing. Believe it or not, people like to be with other people, but that experience needs to be joyful or else that person or that human contact will be avoided. People don't like negative experiences.
