Can I give zero stars? Negative stars? My husband, adult daughter and I walked in while on vacation. Each of us had intended on making purchases of cologne, perfume and skin care items. However, as soon as we walked in, the sales associate looked us up and down and treated us terribly. Not even attempting to make a sale, but clearly made the assumption that we could not AFFORD anything there, simply because we weren't dressed nice enough. (Again... we were on vacation and had been driving for the past week as we traveled. So I'm terribly sorry that we didn't walk in wearing our Ralph Lauren or carrying my Gucci bag to please HER and meet her approval.)
So instead of assisting to gather the items we mentioned we wanted, she told my daughter and I, " You realize, these items are very expensive." Yes, we were aware of the prices of the items we planned to purchase. And we also do not appreciate being clearly JUDGED by a sales associate. Her attitude, looks and several other comments she made changed our minds and we purchased all our items elsewhere.
After returning home, I wrote to the CS email address and gave them details about what happened, what exactly was said, what the sales associate looked like, what time we were there, and how it made us feel. No response. Not even a, "we will look into this matter." Nothing.
We will NEVER be back to this Macy's. And if this is how they train their staff - to JUDGE their potential customers to ascertain whether they can afford their products? Then I will never shop any Macy's again. Just... WOW.
(Flash back to the Pretty Woman scene... "Big mistake... Big! HUGE!")
