Things started off strong but after less than a year I have chosen to look elsewhere for my tax and bookkeeping services. I found Jennifer to have little to no accountability for 2 considerable mistakes that were made, 1 on my tax return and another related to estimated taxes. These mistakes totaled well into 5 figures and were financial surprises to me. She forgot to inform me of amounts owed for quarterly payments until 2 days before Qtr 2 were due. She completely forgot to inform me of Qtr 1 so that was missed. Her excuse was that "tax season is busy" (yes...and this is your job!). There was zero customer service to repair what ended up being a very financially stressful situation for me. A simple apology is often anyone needs. I trusted Madrona to manage my tax return and books, and am incredibly disappointed with the lack of integrity, accountability, and customer service I experienced. I have also learned that they have a bit of a bad reputation amongst other CPAs in the area. I hope they can improve their customer service skills and ability to be accountable to their customers. This is people's money they're dealing with and shouldn't be taken lightly.

Madrona Bookkeeping has made my business life less stressful,
They manage to get my employees pay stubs returned to me the same day with no errors. This keeps the guys happy and me smiling.

This business has been nothing but a poor experience that’s going to end up, costing me a lot of money because of poor bookkeeping. I also did work for Jennifer personally, and they have gone into my QuickBooks and changed their personal invoices. I was told by Jennifer that she okayed her office to change the invoices to a lower amount without my knowledge, and without my approval they’ve also made an error in my business taxes that has already cost me thousands. Jennifer said if it was her companys wrong she would cover the cost that also has not happened. I’ve hired an outside company to try to resolve this matter. I was also being double charged for payroll. They have their own system they do payroll on and instead of keeping track of it on their system. They move it over to Quickbooks and then Quickbooks also charged you additional for payroll so you get charged twice. I continuously had problems with payroll checks that were wrong amounts. My employees sometimes would have to wait until Monday to get the matter resolved. Now that I have a new accountant, she’s told me my books are such a mess. It’s virtually impossible to straighten them out correctly and our only option is to close at the end of third quarter and re-open to start fresh. I urge you when you hire a bookkeeper to look up the references to get referrals. It’s so important I hate for other businesses to be going through what I’m having to deal with right now.
