I never write negative reviews, this is my first. Went at 7:30pm Sunday night. I hardly get massages, so decided to opt for the 90 minute for value at 70 dollars. The massage started great with Ivy. She had great technique and genuinely cared about the pressure and service she was providing. At this point I was already trying to plan for my next visit or making a routine, as it Magic Ping was steps away from where I lived.
Almost exactly at halfway through I think the receptionist (owner? Person at the front taking payment?) came in and swapped with Ivy with no explanation. She apologized that her hands were cold, and that was the last she spoke as she took over working on me on what would be the worst and most awkward 45 minutes I've ever had, massage or not. I had no idea where Ivy went, but I eventually heard her talking in another room so I assume she had to work on somebody else. Why could I hear her? Because for the second half of my massage my door was open exposing me to the public. I imagine it was because she had to monitor the front door. I could hear a Chinese man talk constanty. The second lady provided an extremely non engaged massage, at times using one hand, or using the phone. For ten minutes would just scratch my head. For the rest of the massage she would almost no pressure. She would leave for five minutes at a time, for three times. I shut my eyes as hard as I could to avoid further awkwardness, and was about to leave during one of her absences but ultimately chose not to to not be rude. I continued to wonder if I wanted to leave more or did she. Although the full 90 minutes were honored, the whole second half of the massage was so tense and awkward that I wished I had left. Was offered a tiny cup of water and chinese candy in the way out. When I reached the front door she asked for a tip, to which I begrudgingly left eight dollars. I have always left twenty dollars if services were less than a hundred dollars, but this felt like I paid eight dollars to leave.
I'm m not one to shame a business, but I want to spread awareness for any potential customers. I really wanted to love the place because of how close I lived. If you do decide to come here make sure you have Ivy the whole time, and maybe only opt for half an hour. This was truly one of the worst experience I've ever had.
