My mom moved into Mallard Landing about a year and a half ago. She had come from a family home which was so boring and did not give her any type of activity besides watching tv (she was asked to turn the tv volume down so the owners could sleep). At ML she has new friends, plays cards nearly every day, enjoys meals in the dining room, is encouraged to be out and about as much as possible. She has a small studio that we’ve decorated and she feels at home there. She is on many medications and they have been good about getting them to her in a timely manner. The facility is tucked into a residential neighborhood and the smaller size lends to a warm family feeling. I would recommend it to those looking for a smaller, friendly and loving environment for their loved ones.
My grandmother has been a resident of Mallard Landing for over 2 years. She LOVES living there!! She enjoys her independence in her roomy studio, which we were able to decorate cute and cozy for her. She participates in MANY of the wide array of activities and outings that are offered. The food is delicious, and plentiful, she often states there is too much to choose from! BUT- the MOST IMPORTANT thing to us is the care. Let me tell you- it is AMAZING!!! We are a very involved family, and are in the building often, I worked in senior living for 20 years, and have plenty of experience, and I can tell you- the staff at Mallard Landing is top notch! They really DO care! A couple nights ago, they threw the residents and their families a wonderful Christmas dinner. There was entertainment, delicious appetizers, a wonderful meal, and a chocolate fountain with all the fixings for dessert. All staff was on for the evening, and served us as if we were kings and queens! Tears were brought to my eyes when Santa arrived and the staff went to the Christmas tree and pulled out and delivered a PERSONALIZED gift to EVERY resident! The hard work that went into all of that shows the hearts of this staff!! Nadia is a very professional Director.....but don't let that professional appearance fool you- she is a ball of mush when it comes to these residents- she CARES, and as they say- it all trickles down from the top!
If you are looking for a place for your loved one to move to in this season of their life- I would HIGHLY recommend Mallard Landing- my grandma means the world to our family, and we'd have her no where else!!
