My family and I have eaten here monthly for my entire life (over 25 years). It was the best Chinese food in the Pacific Northwest. It WAS better than anything in Seattle, including International District.
The place changed last month after the previous owners retired. Unfortunately, the portions are smaller, the menu lost many good options, and the food was very mediocre. It’s not worth a monthly drive from Seattle anymore.
RIP to the legend that was Mandarin Kitchen. Best wishes for the new owners, I’ll give it one more shot in a few months and call it quits if they haven’t turned the place around by then.
We had the Chicken & Green Beans & It was Very Good! Good portion size as well. Pork Egg Foo Young (3 Large Thick Pieces) I don't doubt the other reviews but I know that sometimes there are Rough Starts & Challenges when starting a New Business. Especially if your the Following Act of a Long Time Successful Restaurant that had been there for years. I stopped in thinking it was the same & as I waited for my order I checked out the reviews. They were pretty up & down but I was glad I had not read them first. Our Food was Great. I know its disappointing to get food & services less than what's expected or accustomed to & I don't doubt those other reviews at all. I just hope they are given another chance and that those that have not tried this new place will give them the benefit of the doubt. Lol, and No I am no relation or invester to this new business. I just know how hard it is to Start up & earn a good reputation. Pam Gordon
