More of a moderate hike with a total distance of ~7miles out and back, 1500 elevation gain which took us about 4hrs to complete. We did this hike on a late sunday afternoon and found plenty of parking spots. Parking here is free with no entrance fee to the park and love the proximity to the city. The trail was mostly covered and that helped a great deal on a hot sunny day. It was well maintained with clear directions all through the loop, though there was a huge tree that was uprooted, towards the end of the trail on our way up. The only way to get to the other side was to climb on the tall log and jump, which can be a hassle. The hike after this point had a steep incline all the way to the top. Got a beautiful view of Mt Rainier on the top thanks to the clear sky. A long hike all in all and be sure to keep yourself well hydrated.
