The main exchange at MCAS Yuma is a detrimental factor to the health and well being of military personnel and their families. We can only hope MCCS goes bankrupt and a better contractor comes in to make the retail services on the base better!
I had simply forgot my ID card and only wanted to purchase a set of shirt stays. I was upfront with the cashier that I had forgot my ID and there were two other cashiers who I had purchased things from many times before and they knew who I was. The cashier said I couldn’t purchase the shirt stays without my ID.
Then I remembered Veterans could now purchase items at the exchange. I asked the girl and she said yes that’s true, I showed her my drivers license that has Veteran on it. Mind you that the AZ MVD requires a military ID or a DD-214 to put the word Veteran on your drivers license. However the cashier still would not let me purchase the shirt stays.
This is why MCCS is hurting for money, they have horrible customer service and don’t want to sell items to anyone even if you have proof you’re a veteran.
