This was a very cool place. I found it to be very clean and well maintained. They are now charging $5 for parking. We went to the Locks Waterfront Grill to get our parking ticket. My 2 yr old had a lot of fun at the playground. In the afternoon it is in full sun, though there are shaded picnic benches near by to sit down. There is a museum and island near by. I suggest making a morning or afternoon outing to enjoy the Island. There is an old sternwheeler that you can pay to ride on too!

For those with small children: it is close to the river and it drops off. The current is very strong and it isn't a place for swimming. If you have little ones, you will need to watch them like a hawk.
