This unassuming place, out of the way between Somis and Moorpark, has the most amazing selection of California Native / drought-tolerant plants. We have obtained 50%+ of our landscape plants from Bob at Matilija Nursery, and have enjoyed every moment of our conversations with him (the other 49% came from the Theodore Payne Foundation in Sun Valley). We live on a rocky hillside on the northwest flank of the Santa Monica Mountains, and Bob was very knowledgeable and helpful in steering us towards beautiful, functional plants that have thrived in our setting.
