I am currently renting an apartment managed by this company and they are awful with maintenance requests. I filled a request because I have a leak in my roof since November and the only thing they have done is sent 4 different companies for quotes but no work done yet. I reminded the building manager about this issue a week ago since I saw the forecast for a weeklong raining condition and her excuse was that they authorized the repairs but didn’t know why the company hasn’t come (no one has contacted me to arrange the maintenance visit). Today it rained all afternoon and my restroom is unusable since the leak falls right on the toilet, my floor is flooded and my 6yo slipped and almost fell. On top of all this they sent me a notice of monthly payment increase which we refuse to pay since they are unable to provide a service for our own safety.
If you are a building owner DO NOT GIVE YOUR BUILDING TO THIS COMPANY TO MANAGE. We have spoken to many of our neighbors and they say the building had been good with maintenance until the recent change in management. We love our apartment and the neighbors but they are really forcing us to look for another option.
Final Review as of 08/14/24: 3 stars. My building is switching management companies and I'm not surprised. They are disorganized, miscommunicate, and the left hand doesn't seem to know what the right hand is doing. The VP of the company left for another, which also doesn't surprise me. Ultimately, they do get things done, but they seem to be overwhelmed by the amount of clients they have. Things are forgotten, miscommunicated, etc. I had to be extremely diligent about my requests. If you move into a building with them managing, it'll end up being ok. Definitely better than some. YMMV!
UPDATED REVIEW (from 2 to 3 stars now): I'm pleasantly surprised the VP of McIntire reached out and is making amends towards the problems I mentioned below in the "OLD REVIEW." She stated that she would like to repair the trust and communication between them and myself and the tenants here. She was very nice, understanding, and gave me her contact info in case of any further issues. She also updated me on the status of the current repair needs. Fantastic!
I truly value that bit of communication and will continue to update my review as time goes on. I'd love to be able to rate the 4 or 5 stars, as that means I feel truly respected and take care of as a tenant. And that's hard to find in LA!
OLD REVIEW: They mostly handle repairs well, though it seems some things "slip" through the cracks. Front window is still cracked after two years (the request was made over a year ago, repair guys came out, never came back, I gave up inquiring about it) and I've been waiting for them to replace the broken AC unit for a month.
Slow communication is the real issue with this company. There's no good way to speak with anyone directly. I've tried their phone number and extensions and nobody picks up. The operator takes a message and I never get a call back.
Your experience may vary!
I will update my review in another 6 months if my situation has improved.
