I was so excited about their sale on houseplants and got several! I purchased some of their potting soil as well and repotted all the plants and put them in my room. I purchased a total of 16 plants.
They started to look dead, moldy and ashy looking on the soil. I purchased them within the last few weeks. Distraught, I inspected them to see how I could bring them back to life. Under closer inspection ALL of the plants have fungus gnats and spider mites. Webs and fungus surround the bottom layers of the plants. So disappointed. I've noticed gnats flying in the room and wondered where they were coming from. Whether the plants themselves and or soil was contaminated upon purchase, I wouldn't know but one or both were.
I haven't decided yet on if I'll get rid of these plants and find a different nursery to start anew, or start the lengthy process of ridding the plants and soil of the contamination. Great price but it doesn't matter if the plants are infested and you'll need to purchase new ones later.
Update: I went to Ace Hardware and purchased Neem Oil to take care of the infestations. Hopefully they will revive and thrive soon!
