Unfortunately, my experience was quite underwhelming, leading me to rate it 3 out of 5 stars.
Ambiance: The restaurant’s ambiance was bland and forgettable. The decor was minimalistic to the point of feeling lifeless, lacking any charm or unique touches that might make it stand out. The lighting was too dim for my liking, giving the space a somewhat gloomy feel. There was nothing about the atmosphere that made me want to linger or come back for a repeat visit.
Service: The service at this place was the one bright spot in an otherwise lackluster experience. The staff was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. From the moment I walked in, I felt well taken care of. They were quick to take my order and ensure everything was to my liking throughout the meal. Their excellent service was the only aspect that truly stood out and made the visit somewhat enjoyable. If only the rest of the experience matched the quality of their service.
Food: The rice noodles, which are the cornerstone of their menu, were just average. The flavors were muted, and the dish lacked the vibrant, fresh ingredients that I expect from good Asian cuisine. The broth was bland and needed more seasoning. There was nothing particularly wrong with the meal, but there was nothing exciting or memorable about it either. It felt like something I could easily prepare at home with a packet of instant noodles and a few basic ingredients.
Value: In terms of pricing, it was fair, but the lack of quality in the food and overall experience made it feel like it wasn’t worth what I paid. There are many other places in San Gabriel Valley where I could get a more enjoyable meal for a similar price.
Overall: This place is the epitome of mediocrity. While the service was outstanding and the staff made me feel welcome, everything else about the restaurant, from the ambiance to the food, felt like it was done just enough to get by without any real passion or effort. If you’re in a pinch and need a quick meal, it might suffice, but there are definitely better options out there if you’re looking for a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience.
Would I go back? Probably not. There are too many other places that offer a more memorable and enjoyable meal. If you’re in the area and craving rice noodles, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
