If we could give no stars, or minus 10 Stars, we would. I will give them credit for this, they did package them nicely.we took in a very large lamb that weighed right close to 90 lbs Dressed!! How do we know this? Because we weighed before we brought it in! Red flag number one, when we walked into the store with the 90 LB lamb, there was no one at the counter, no one available in the store. We could hear a television in the background, but didn't see anyone. After much throat-clearing and feet shuffling, someone finally showed up. Red flag number two, they didn't weigh it when we brought it in. That should have been our first clue that this endeavor was not going to turn out as expected. They said that the lamb would be ready by Wednesday; we brought it in on Saturday. no problem. Started calling on Wednesday, no answer, no answers to 6 calls on Thursday, finally someone answered at noon on Friday. Said oh, gosh, we haven't cut it up yet, I will do that today. It will be ready for tomorrow. Which it was. Unfortunately, it was way less than half of what we expected. You would think that a 90 lb lamb that came in DRESSED, with nothing on it but meat and bones, would weigh more than 28 lb when it came out all cut up and packaged. When we asked about it, the guy says, 'it was a small lamb'. No, it wasn't. It was all we could do to carry it into the building. It was not a small lamb. It was almost an adult. When we called him and asked him about it again later, he said, 'it was a small lamb'. We said no, it wasn't. He said 'that's what everybody says. That's what the deer hunters all say.' I don't care what the deer hunter's all say, I know what I brought in. I brought in a 90 pound lamb, and I got back 28 pounds of lanb. Thank you so much Meridian meat. We will never, ever use you again. And, guess what? We will be extolling your virtues everywhere. Oh, and red flag number three? Every time I called, nobody answered, and the phone went to voice mail or fax. As an afterthought, I'm guessing that this store makes tons of money on stolen lamb, beef, and deer meat! Way to go Meridian meat! Gill Doss was an awesome, honest guy. Way carry on his legacy.
