As soon as you walk in, that old place smell hits you right away. But they have done a good job at decorating the place. Service was slow but good.
I had called ahead to ensure they have vegan options and was assured you can customize most stuff vegan. Asked the server to get vegan dishes (Chimichanga and Enchiladas) and they seemed to not know what vegan is. I explained that there should be no meat or dairy and off they went. I asked proactively again, that the beans shouldn't have any lard, and they came back and said that refried beans do have lard. So they replaced it with whole beans.
Meal was brought out and the rice on our plate tasted funny. I asked if it was cooked in chicken broth, and it sure was. So vegans, beware to not order rice or refried beans, I found out the hard way.
Plenty of other Mexican food options, so I'll pass on this restaurant for next time.
