He completely lied, and did not do what we agreed on. Instead of rectifying the situation, he told me that I misunderstood. Why would I need his help to collect information I already had and shared with him in during our consultation call? I definitely would think twice before entrusting him and giving him your money.

Again you continue to twist the information to benefit you and your team. In reality, you collected information that I already had. So, you are correct, that is not what I hired you for. However, that is the “work” you did. I would say a negotiation is a far stretch, because you listened to the same information I received from the same office and reiterated it back to me. Telling me the current state and federal laws, is not considered a negotiation.
Paying for a “job” (calling an office to get the same info that anyone else has access to) that I had already done on my own, is money lost; I don’t care how little that amount is in your eyes.
