In 23 years probably the best anniversary yet!
We had the crab ravioli and wild boar. I have been searching for the perfect pappardelle. Found it. We were fighting over whose entree was the best! Service, atmosphere, everything was beyond amazing!
We were surprised at the extremely special touches for our occasion.
We had been wanting to go for so long but for us it’s a jaunt with our schedules. So we planned our whole anniversary around the Montalcino and its sister restaurant Vivi. (Separate review) The Falls and other fun things were a bonus! Definitely worth the hotel and drive!
We were really excited to try this place for a birthday. Reservations were hard to come by with a 2 week notice but managed to get a 4:45 on a Fri.
Space is a premium here but the seating didn’t seem crowded. Just be prepared to have a lot of activity around you. Service was good. Water was kept filled, wine glasses on the flight were swapped out.
The antipasto platter was amazing. The rest of the food was just so so. In both the lamb shank and veal dishes, the gravy overpowered the flavor of the meat. The short rib ravioli tasted good but again the cream sauce overpowered the taste of the meat.
