The camp host and park staff were beyond pleasant and knowledgeable. The restrooms we always clean and well stocked. No showers. But the nearby Morro Bay Park campground had token showers. The site we were in had a sand beach. The beach had big waves for surfing and lots of shells for kids to explore. We had a wonderful time discovering the Morro Bay area. The beachside campsites are sand, the street side campsites have grass and RV hookups. Both had their benefits. Don't walk on the protected areas, tide pools are a short easy walk north of the campgrounds

I think your experience has a lot to do with what site you pick. I was in 19. The ocean is 50 ft away and the vegetation made it impossible to even see the beach from my spot. Sites way too close to each other, and I don’t even think there’s water or dump on site
