Ok I don't usually write long reviews but I want to give as much context here as possible.
The owner, Matt was very nice to me the first time I came in, and I spent over $900 with the promise that I could return items that didn't work well in my new apartment.
Matt did fix a lamp that broke as soon as I got it home (it broke because he told me it could swivel when it actually couldn't). He was reluctant to let me return a mirror but gave me a cash refund without the sales tax.
Next visit I brought back a lamp (we had agreed that I would return it once he finished repairing the broken lamp). Matt was very reluctant to issue a refund, I had to ask him several times. In addition he basically said I could no longer return items, which is the total opposite of what he told me just two weeks prior. A friend of the owner told me Matt tends to overprice and I should barter with him, but when I tried doing this, Matt basically threatened me. He brought up a cedar chest he was selling that seals air tight and said, "Wouldn't it be so sad if a little girl got stuck in there? Or if her brother pushed her in there and killed her?" I'm a young woman alone in the store with this guy, so I was beginning to question my safety. It was very creepy, uncomfortable, disrespectful.
The next time I went in (this time with a friend), I was bringing back a $160 stool with the hopes of exchanging it for a $140 bench. The employee that was there said, "Oh you must be _" as soon as I walked in, and proceeded to tell me I can no longer return items. As rude as all that was, I just wanted to get the bench and would've considered buying more if he did an even exchange, but that was not enough for Matt. He still tacked on an extra $25 for the bench, and I paid it knowing I would never go back to this store again.
There is a good selection at this store but Matt seems pretty awful to work with after the first sale (unless you're an old white guy, he practically kicked me out of the store when two came in, despite that I was the one spending $900 and they spent nothing). He also charged me for an item on my original receipt ("Japanese box") which I never bought, but after his threatening language, I'd rather just not go back.
TL;DR: Shop owner is not a nice guy. Selection is pretty good but can be overpriced. Don't recommend but should you chose to shop here, negotiate price as much as possible and treat everything as final sale.
