I came here a few weeks ago complaining that my ears felt clogged and there was a small tapping behind my right eardrum. Instead of checking my ears the doctor immediately asked if I smoke cannabis. When I said yes, and that it was in my patient history, she read me a list of cancer types I could get from smoking and told me it was a paranoid side effect. Last week I had to go to urgent care because I lost my hearing and was in tremendous pain. Turns out I had a bad ear infection the whole time. This is a dangerous level of inadequate care. The doctor let her personal opinions override her professional duty to take care of my infection. Urgent care did a better job of making me feel safe and listened to than my personal care provider. I suggest the doctors listen to their patients when they say they are in pain instead of preaching about the evils of marijuana. I almost permanently lost my hearing because of this reckless unprofessionalism.
While this place has its cons, especially in regards to there being long gaps in availability for appointments. There are also some pros worth giving this Family Medicine Center a try.
I recently transferred care from here and decided to try a new doctor that was closer to home with much more availability and openings. After seeing the new doctor, I instantly regretted it.
Prior, I was a patient of Dr. Marissa Robinson’s. She is professional, kind, caring, intelligent, personable, interpersonal, and she remembers her patients. She always took the time to ask me how I was, is extremely patient, and would chat with me before getting to the bottom line without a sense of urgency looming in the air. She also always ensured that she addressed all my concerns, wants, and needs when it came to figuring out potential diagnoses and creating treatment plans. Which in my experience, is a rare quality to find in a doctor.
All in all, I couldn’t rave about her enough and highly recommend that you give her a try. Hopefully your experience will echo what mine has been.
