I've been a member of MUV Fitness for over a year, and while the facilities are generally fine, the cancellation process has been a complete disappointment. When I first signed up, no one mentioned the cancellation fees, and I trusted the staff to be upfront about key details. While I acknowledge I should have read the fine print, it’s frustrating that important information like this wasn’t explained.
I had planned to cancel my membership after over a year of loyalty, but MUV Fitness hit me with over $100 in fees because I had paused my membership during the summer—which they charged me for ($5 for me and $5 for my wife each month). What they failed to mention was that the pause would extend our contract, meaning we couldn’t cancel without these extra fees. I find this completely unfair, especially since the pause was something they offered, but it's now used against us.
To make matters worse, we had planned on re-joining the gym after my wife recovers from her pregnancy, but after being treated this way, we will not be coming back. It's clear that MUV Fitness is more interested in squeezing out extra fees than treating customers fairly.
Businesses should prioritize customer satisfaction, but it’s obvious MUV Fitness cares more about locking people into unfair terms. If you’re thinking of joining, ask every question and read every single word of your contract, because the staff won’t bother explaining these traps to you.
We’re disgusted by how we’ve been treated and will be taking our business elsewhere.
