My wife and I have bought several pieces of jewelry from Joe and his store, as well as having repairs made to some of my wife's older jewelry. The prices are always very good and the work is excellent.
Recently, I brought in a watch for gasket service and battery replacement. It is a nice watch that I'm fond of, but some time after getting it back from the store we had a downpour that caused our outside storm drain to clog. I cleared the debris, unaware of submerging my watch. When I returned inside, it had water inside.
I occasionally repair old ship clocks and have some familiarity with watches, so I removed the back to discover the gasket had not been replaced, and in fact, was cracked and cemented in place. I stewed about it for some time, and eventually returned to My Jewelers with the entire mess in a baggie.
They were very apologetic, and promised to send it to a different watchmaker for repair. I offered to pay, since the watchmaker was apparently at fault and not their store, but they would not hear of it.
Long story short, the other watchmaker needed some time to track down parts for this old watch, and it was returned to me in perfect running condition.
These are the people you want to do business with. Old school. Honest, responsible, and more than fair both in service and price. Highest recommendation!
