We arrived for lunch at 11:30am. Our first visit to My Pho. We were seated immediately as there was no one else in the restaurant. After pondering an extensive menu the waitress asked if we were ready. We mentioned this was our first visit and the menu was a little overwhelming. “If you have any questions just ask,” she said and immediately walked away. Hmmm. Not sure who were we were supposed to direct our questions to.
Anyway, I ordered the N3 Vermicelli dish with grilled pork and shrimp. My wife ordered the N6 Vermicelli dish with stir fried chicken. My wife got her dish first and the waitress walked away saying she would be back. Several uncomfortable minutes later, after I had informed my wife to go ahead and start without me, I got my dish.
Nice looking plate of food though there was no evidence of the pork being grilled at all. The side dressing is very tasty. The vegetables were all super fresh. The vermicelli was okay though a bit over for my taste. By the end of the meal the vermicelli could not be taken off the plate with a fork or chopsticks. 25% of my meat was fat and gristle. I asked the waitress if that was normal. She simply said, “Yes.”
My wife’s chicken was tender with no fat or gristle. It ate well for her. Mine did not as I has a significant pile of inedible meat laying on the table. When the waitress came over very late in the meal to ask if everything was okay I pointed to the pile and she made no comment and walked away.
The price-point is high and there are no lunch deals so that explains that the hour we were there (11:30-12:30) only two other patrons came in.
We usually give a new place at least two tries, but with the uncaring service and high price point we will not be making another visit to My Pho. There are too many other very good, established Pho places to choose from in this area.
Over priced average food with substandard service! And NOT Kids friendly. The place always seemed very quiet so I went in to support this local business. The second time I went with my two kids. The owner with a straight face as always, only gave us two cups of water, not giving water to my younger one. While I understand that she wanted to save on the cost for a business that is not doing so well. What really made me upset is that We ordered a free range chicken noodles, the waitress served us a different dish. I immediately ask that this is not what we ordered, instead of getting us want we want, the waitress/owner kept telling me: you should try it. We tried it, neither I nor my kids liked it. We were forced to take something we don’t want and had to pay for it together with tips. What a waste of money. We are never going back and hope it will close down soon for new business opportunities.
