1964, graduated boot camp in San Diego, at 17. My Orders sent me to Jim Creek Navradsta T, Oso Wa. Thank goodness I learned how to type in HS! I worked the old time switch board and typed the 'The Plan of the day'. One year there, then '65, My new Orders put me on a U.S. Navy Destroyer in San Diego. Off to the 'Viet Nam' war. Did get to see Hawaii, Japan, Taiwan and Subic Bay. Then coast of Viet Nam. I thanked God Going Home Safely!

Favorite military getaway. Military only, quiet, clean, great staff.

We went for the weekend February 9th thru Feb 11. We stayed in the deluxe cabins that were priced at $140.00 per night. The cabin was excellent, it had a mini kitchen, full bath, wood stove, and satellite (T.V.). We got lucky during our time there and had a break in the weather so it was sunny and about 40 degrees. Our stay was great however make sure you pack everything you need because the little store on base doesn't offer much and has very limited hours. We plan on going back but next time we want to rent one of the primitive cabins.
