I chose neighbors because they were quick to respond and seemed professional and trust worthy. My moving experience was satisfactory, as the movers worked hard and respected my property and my house. However, I am writing this one star review after being ignored despite reaching out to their customer service representative numerous times. Below is a summary of my poor experience.
When I initially got my quote (over the phone) I was assured that the time being charged would not start until the movers arrived at my house. Unfortunately, I did not get this in writing.
When I received my invoice it included time the movers spent from picking up their truck and driving to my house. (approximately 2.5 hrs). The movers failed to go to my right address in the morning which contributed about 1 hr to this 2.5 hrs of drive time.the bill When asked to pay the bill I did not want to argue with the driver about their billing time because I figured Neighbors would honor their word and refund me for the added 2.5 hrs of time that was not originally part of the agreement. To date I have not received a call back or explanation as to why they will not refund me the 2.5 hrs or at least the 1 hour that was wasted while their driver went to the incorrect address in the morning.
As a result I do not recommend using this company.
When I called them to have my piano moved, they didn't mention anything about the time for the moving starting when they left their office and keep charging hourly until they arrive back at their office. They were already more expensive than all the other movers I called, but were the only ones available to move on the days that I needed, so I paid the extra cost. I got an email the day before saying that they had changed my appointment from the time I had requested from a 12:00-4:00 P.M. window to an 8:00-10:00 A.M. window. When I called to say that I couldnt make the 8:00-10:00 and needed to keep the originally promised arrival window, they acted like it was a huge inconvenience that I couldn't just take the early arrival, and asked why I couldn't just be there at 8:00 like they wanted. They eventually promised that they wouldn't be there at 8:00 but wouldn't give me any actual window on when they would arrive. After they arrived, they informed me that there was an additional fee on top of the hourly that wasn't mentioned at all in the scheduling call. They also informed me at this point that they would be charging drive time to and from their warehouse/office. All of this led to paying nearly double what aas originally expected. After this it took a week of emails and voicemails to them before I could actually talk to someone. Don't trust this company! Very dishonest tactics to get more money out of you! They did a good job in actually moving the piano, I will give them credit for that at least.
The crew I had moving us were incredible. William, Jason S, Beth and Marlon were just fantastic. We lived in an apt on the 3rd floor and the stairs were very hard to navigate and our new apt was also located on the 3rd floor, the crew never once complained about the stairs and it never slowed them down. William also explained to me with great detail the pricing and the time it would take to move everything. They worked so fast and efficient. They were amazing!! I would 100% recommend this crew and your company to anyone moving. Thank you again for sending out an amazing crew.
