I really am not a fan of writing less than great reviews , but as I’ve met more and more mothers in this community I feel it was be disservice to not be transparent . Pros : Rachael is personable , knowledgeable , readily available and makes sacrifices to be just that. Cons: I wouldn’t consider Rachael a traditional midwife , according to MY own ideas of this , which everyone may have differing opinions. What I consider a traditional midwife is someone who ONLY utilizes medical intervention in emergency cases & prefers to try everything holistically first . My experience with Rachael ended with me transferring my own care to Tacoma General because I did not believe that my sporadic elevated BP’s =the need to induce . I instead monitored my own BP , took myself in for a full work up and NST to rule out pre- e and got to labor and birth naturally with no pressure to induce by a traditional OB a week later . Quite backwards in my opinion. I believe that if you feel you’ll have a straight forward birth , with no hiccups and are completely ok with hospital birth , she’ll be great for you! If not , there’s other options !
Rachael is an amazing midwife. She came highly recommended from friends. Rachael helped to safely guide me throughout my pregnancy so I could finally have my 3rd child at home. The birth was beautiful and smooth, just as I had always wished for. She was so incredibly skilled helping me deliver a 10lb baby without any complications at home. At all times throughout pregnancy, labor and delivery I felt supported and could trust her judgement, assessing all risk factors. Thank you for this wonderful experience!
