My previous review was made in the middle of IOP, when things were ok. Ok. Not good, or great, and for the most part, BAD.
“Co-occuring” on paper maybe, but not in practice. I was offered a mental health counselor months later after starting IOP, and the clinician running the “co-occuring” groups was never prepared. Literally every day after check-in “so what do you guys want to work on?” Isn’t that kind of a facilitator’s job? If we all had our issues (traumas) taken care, we wouldn’t be in such a setting…
This is not the first place that I’ve been to that the clinicians do this; even after reaching “6 months,” most either avoid delivering on what was agreed upon OR they kick you out saying “we can’t help you, you already got it figured out.”
And yes these places are notorious for lost paperwork, promised call backs that never happen, or being unable to accept paperwork from interested clients. Client’s are garbage to these places; we never achieve, are only a waste.
