Literally been to the New Mecca Cafe 40 plus times since 1976. My go-to meal is the stuffed peppers . Includes salad rice and beans, tortillas. Sauted peppers and onions 🌰 on top lightly battered super rich loaded with cheese. Best chili rellenos I've had anywhere. It's a huge meal and we normally make burritos with the leftovers & tortillas. Excellent complintary salsa & bean dip.
Delicious! Inexpensive! Friendly staff! A friend & I popped in with 15 to 20 minutes before closing (sorry, I hate being last minute people). 3 different staff members helped us (as it was our first time). All 3 were amazing. The gentleman went to the back to make me food (I am pescatarian) he made a cheese enchilada, brought us chips, salsa & bean dip (all vegetarian). He didn't charge us. Simply amazing food, I would eat there everyday if I lived in the area. The pictures: the circular tin bowl is Chilaquiles (enough to feed 2 or 3 people). The taco is a potato taco, amazing!!!! The picture with multiple items is the cheese enchilada, salsa & bean dip.. mm mm so good!!! Everything but the Chilaquiles is vegetarian. Cheap & authentic food!!!! Must try!!!
