At Death's Door. I know what that means because I was literally there. Then God put me in Dr. Van Buren's path. I am so grateful that I can't even begin to adequately say. I had been in a large, good, established hospital downtown for nearly a month, dying more each day. I had a team of 7 Doctors, so I understand, who were trying to save me. Then, a long-shot and difficult operation became about the only possibility left on the table, but that hospital didn't have anyone on staff available to do that sort of surgery. According to one doctor, they "put out the call" in Spokane asking for the surgeon specialist they needed. Dr. Van Buren raised his hand. From what I understand and have learned, he volunteered to perform the surgery on a 73 year old woman, whom he had never met, at a hospital where he doesn't regularly practice, and it was after he'd already had a full day which ended up meaning that he would have to begin the operation on her at Midnight. This brilliant Surgeon said YES and saved this old lady's life. He didn't have to, he just felt moved to do it. He is obviously also an incredible Humanitarian. I thank God for him every single day and have prayed for his continued amazing skills and abilities, ethics, humanism and strength to continue to help so many others.
Over the next week, I was also pleased because each of the Doctors on my hospital team, individually without the others knowing, came into my room just to tell me how impressed and in awe of Dr. Van Buren they were. They were all amazed and truly in respectful awe of Dr. Van Buren. Now, that was also incredible to witness from his collegues. Thank you and my gratitude and humble respect to all of you.
Dr. Vanburen could have at any point talked to me about my bmi concerns and could have even not scheduled my surgery at the clinic , instead he met met with me a week before confirming surgery and going over the plan for surgery and what would happen. I was cleared by the anesthesiologist Tina . The day of my surgery I received a call less than 2 hours before I was to be there letting me know my surgery had been pushed back because the provider had changed anesthesiologist and he wanted to meet with me before surgery. They canceled my surgery stating they didn’t have a big enough bed for me, and was concerned about hypertension (I have never had an issue with hypertension) never taking my blood pressure. Cody and Nicolas wanted me to believe it was on me and they we’re doing me a favor when the reality is the surgery never should have been scheduled knowing that I did not meet their safe guards they have for people with high BMI Tremendously unbelievable!!!!!
