I recently took a full day photography workshop at North Cascades Institute. The class was titled “Go with the flow:Waterfall and Stream photography “, with the instructor Juan. It was very informative and enjoyable way to spend the day. I learned a lot and enjoyed the instructors knowledge and style of teaching. The support staff was also very supportive and helpful. I would recommend this class and other classes offered through North Cascades Institute without hesitation.

My wife and I enjoyed the experience as well as our 5 year old son. We learned about plants we could eat and those which had medicinal value. We learned about different kinds of rocks, where they came from, how they were formed. The scenery was amazing, the boating was idyllic. Staff were patient, smart, informative and fun. Food was great (always fresh fruit, salad, healthy breakfast options, but also the old reliable, traditional fare). They took us exploring around the streams and taught us about all the animal life we uncovered. The cabins and facilities are all new. Highly exceeded our expectations and we plan to go back every year.

Had an incredible time during my stay at base camp. The facility is located in the most beautiful valley next to Diablo Lake, surrounded by gorgeous forest and hiking trails. The accommodations are comfortable and the staff and instructors are very nice and knowledgeable. We went on the most amazing hike up the Sourdough River to a waterfall, it was beautiful and not very difficult, so I highly recommend it. Will definitely visit here again!
