Most of the staff are wonderful, but definitely some lazy / probably racist workers. Especially one in the kid's corner named Kristine. Super rude and rough with young children and always finding excuses to kick them out of the corner early. Seriously, it's the Y, if you hate your job / clientele, maybe try getting a job at the DMV or something.

Staff very kind and helpful, inclusive and customer service oriented. Emmy was very accommodating and positive. Helped with guest passes and safe environment for kids to and families to be active.

I have never given a negative review until now. My son has been attending the YMCA at the North Shore location for a year, where he's been learning swimming with excellent instructors. However, I've encountered issues with the reception staff. While they are friendly during registration, they display a different attitude when it comes to changes or cancellations.

Recently, we signed up for classes in the last two weeks of August, but upon arriving at the North Shore location, I was informed that the classes had been moved to Cottage Lake. This resulted in a two-hour round trip between North Shore and Cottage Lake. Despite the inconvenience, the North Shore reception staff neither apologized nor empathized with the situation. They repeatedly mentioned an email they claimed to have sent, but I hadn't received it. I showed them my emails, and even after searching by name, they still couldn't find it.

Furthermore, they mentioned you might deleted that email , while the first person asserted that even deleted emails would appear in the search results.

It's hard to believe that they refused to trust my words and attempted to make me feel guilty. Despite everything that happened, their actions, including moving my keys and their facial expressions, displayed a consistent rudeness towards me.

Eventually, they refunded the class fees. It wasn't until my husband spoke to them ,than they apologized, revealing they had sent a reminder email for North Shore the day before. This incident has left me appalled by their treatment of customers. As a result, I have decided not to return to the YMCA. It's the first time in my life that I've been treated this way.
