If I could give less than one star I would. My husband and I started looking at getting myself a life insurance plan before our second child arrives. We were referred to Ed Vanvleet. We met with him and reviewed a few plans. He seemed to be more concerned about my husbands ideas on plans than OUR ideas. We needed some time to review, discuss and do some research on the best fit for our family. This is not a light or quick decision. Ed called/texted us several times wanting to get going on the application. After narrowing it down to two we set up a time to get my blood work done and application that needs to be done in person. It was made clear to us we had a little time to decide exactly what plan we were going with out of two. We made the decision and wanted to apply. We informed him to continue with the plan we picked. He did not continue with the application process and blamed us due to non payment. The option of proceeding with the application was there without payment. We let him know that both of our careers were very busy at the time and my husband was working long hours at work with little time even with his family. We explained we would get to him as soon as we had some down time to set up a payment. 24 hours later we received this incredibly rude and unprofessional text, "Well you guys I've been trying for almost 3 weeks to get you to answer a simple question, Did you want me to apply for the policy with the premium paid or not? That's all I needed to know. I've been told more than once how busy you are. My phone receives text messages 24 hours a day. You could've answered my question in less than 15 seconds. Under the circumstances, with the extreme lack of communication between us I don't feel I am interested in continuing on as your insurance agent. If by chance I'm missing something significant here I would be happy to hear what you have to say but beyond that I feel we're done. I'm very sorry I've never had to do this before but it's not worth it To MoveOn under the circumstances." This is not how you treat your clients. I personally work in healthcare and know the importance of communication. We did in fact let Ed know that we wanted to move forward with the application and would set up payment with him later. 24 hours later he lost his professionalism. Ed is NEVER someone I would recommend working with nor waste your time and investments with. He is incredibly condescending to women and pushy. When looking for life insurance PLEASE look else where. My husband had an amazing experience with another agency I will not name. Needless to say I will be going there.
