DO NOT GO HERE UNTIL THEY FIRE THE MALE WORKER WHO LIKES TO MAKE LADIES CRY. This is my first 1 star I have given, and I really wish I could give it a 0 if possible. My family drove up to look at the cuckoo clocks in this town and this store seemed to be the place. My mother spotted the clocks and we started looking to pick one out for her, she had money in hand ready to buy one. She picked the one out and she wanted to hear it cuckoo (plus the time was wrong on it). So she moved the clock to hear it and the guys behind the counter couldn't even get a word out saying don't. Then the guy behind the counter turned into a huge jerk. My mother was very apologetic and said there wasn't a sign that said not to, and asked how to hear the cuckoo function and the guy responds that he would have for her. So she thought that was that, and then she asked the guy for help and he replies "you already touched one, I'm not going to help you now". It got to the point where he made my mom cry, I would say if you're thinking about this store than just turn around. He was just very very rude after this and lost the store $500+, he was very inconsiderate and does not belong in customer service. I really hope the owner gets rid of him, no one deserves the disrespect he shows. Also tried reaching out by email to business but no answer back.

This is a great store and in no way discriminates against any group; especially those in the military or who wear pro-American apparel of any kind. They offers a US military discount. The owner of this store is a true American raising a family. She does good things in the community and would never encourage her employees to behave poorly towards customers nor do so herself. Leavenworth is a beautiful town with awesome people who work tirelessly to ensure visitors enjoy their time here and return year after year. The Nussknacker Haus is a staple of Leavenworth and they do an excellent job making customers and guests of Leavenworth feel welcome.

Wow, for a place that seems to sell such joyful things, the woman working there sure is rude. I was shocked by my experience and my 6 year old left the store crying. I didn't realize that touching of the nutcrackers is not allowed, totally my fault. (although maybe the signs shouldn't say "if you don't touch us, we won't bite you." What does that even mean anyway?) Regardless, my daughter was being extremely gentle when the woman came over. I have no problem with her gently letting us know what the rules are. But she was so rude that my 6 year old left crying and refused to go in any other store. I will never go back in that shop, or even consider buying any of their ridiculously priced pieces of tourist garbage. I hope that woman, whoever she is, is proud of herself. She stood by her store, at the expense of her customers, and at the expense of simple human kindness to a child. But by all means, enjoy the nutcrackers for yourself!
